Stork Posture Hold

Isometric postural drill explicitly prescribed for a 20-second hold on each side. Focuses on single-leg stance, tall spine, dorsiflexed ankle, and stationary arm positioning. Sets and rest periods are not specified.

Key points

  • Elevate lead knee to approximately 90 degrees with the toe dorsiflexed toward the shin
  • Stack the standing foot directly under the hip and center of mass while squeezing the stance glute
  • Hold opposite arm and leg positioning with one hand by the hip pocket and the other near eye level
  • Maintain an upright torso without rounding the shoulders or allowing the stance knee to buckle

Common mistakes

Rounding over through the upper back, bending the standing knee, or letting the lifted toe drop.
