A one-touch passing drill against a wall where the player adjusts their distance to get used to different weights of passes and varying distances.
Before you start
- Position yourself facing a wall with no other equipment required.
Movement sequence
- Play one-touch passes against the wall.
- Adjust the distance between yourself and the wall continuously.
Key points
- Isolate using the right foot first, then isolate using the left foot, and finally use both feet in the same drill.
- Perform about 20 to 30 reps with the right foot, 20 to 30 with the left foot, and a few with both feet.
- Vary the height of your passes to simulate different passes received in a match.
Common mistakes
Being deterred by poor weather conditions like heavy rain.
Practice notes
Training in bad weather conditions (like rain) helps you get used to how the ball feels and moves on the surface so you are more effective in actual matches.
