Directional First Touch and Wall Pass
Position three cones in a line facing a rebound wall; receive the rebound with a directional first touch across the cones and return the pass from the other side, working both right and left feet.
Key points
- Take a positive directional first touch across the cones rather than killing the ball dead
- Keep the ball moving continuously to maintain momentum and flow of play
- Vary the foot surfaces used for receiving (inside, outside) and strike the return pass cleanly with two touches
Common mistakes
Killing the ball completely dead or taking heavy touches that travel too far past the outer cones.
