Max Height Jumps

30 sec

Coaching notes

Maximum height jumps targeting backboard touches, rim touches, or dunks to challenge and maximize vertical explosion on every single repetition.

Before you start

  • Choose a target that challenges you (e.g., backboard touches, rim touches, or dunks).
  • Set your approach style: vertical jump, one-step jump, or three-step jump.

Movement sequence

  1. Take your time between repetitions and do not rush.
  2. Execute your chosen jump approach (vertical, one-step, or three-step).
  3. Reach and touch your target mark, giving maximum effort on every single rep.

Key points

  • Take adequate rest between reps so you can jump your highest every single time.
  • Focus on peak vertical extension and explosive power.

Common mistakes

Rushing between reps without adequate recovery. Not giving 100% effort or failing to challenge yourself at maximum height.

Practice notes

Recommended prescription: 4 sets of 4-5 reps with 90 seconds to 2 minutes of rest. Perform these exercises 3 times a week with one rest day in between workout days.
