Low Bar Back Squat Session & Rest Interval Management

Perform one top set at 405 lb followed by two back-off sets at 365 lb. The coach recommends about four minutes between work sets and loosening the belt during rest. Keep the timer honest and drive out of the hole while maintaining the back angle.

Key points

  • Keep a visible magnetic rack timer to hold rest intervals strictly honest
  • Remove or unbuckle your weightlifting belt between work sets to allow deep diaphragmatic breathing and full recovery
  • Drive out of the hole with hip drive while maintaining an established back angle

Common mistakes

Letting rest periods wander past intended limits, or leaving a tight belt buckled throughout the entire rest interval.
