3 AWESOME BALL STRIKING DRILLSCoaching notes
Using impact spray, foot spray, or dry shampoo on the clubface to get immediate visual feedback on strike location, helping golfers hone in on centered contact.
Before you start
- Select a club (e.g., a 7-iron).
- Apply strike spray, foot spray, or dry shampoo to the face of the club to leave a clear mark upon impact.
Movement sequence
- Spray the clubface thoroughly.
- Hit golf shots without intentionally trying to change your swing mechanics initially.
- Inspect the clubface after each shot to see where the ball made contact (e.g., heel, toe, or center).
Key points
- Check the spray mark on the clubface after each shot.
- Observe whether the strike is favoring the toe, heel, or center.
Common mistakes
Trying to make drastic swing changes immediately rather than letting visual feedback guide natural micro-adjustments. Ignoring the strike pattern feedback across multiple shots.
Practice notes
Having immediate feedback each time you hit a golf shot is unbelievably good for focusing in on centered contact. Work through the bag to hone in on the center point.
