Vertical Net Tape Start-Line Precision Drill

Run a vertical strip of tape down the face of the indoor hitting net aligned directly with the ball position. Hit full shots and observe whether the ball strikes directly on the tape line, left (pull/draw launch), or right (push/fade launch) to calibrate launch direction and face angle.

Key points

  • Apply a vertical line of tape down the center of the hitting net in direct line with the ball address position
  • Align your body and clubface toward the vertical tape target line
  • Hit shots observing initial ball impact on the net to verify face angle control at impact
  • Practice intentionally starting balls left or right of the line to master shot shaping (draws and fades)

Common mistakes

Focusing only on swing mechanics while ignoring ball departure direction, or misaligning the tape with the ball on the mat.
