Single-Leg Hop to Split Step Alternating Drill

Hop on one leg, jump out into a wide balanced split step, and immediately recoil back onto the opposite single leg, continuously alternating right and left hops for 30 seconds. Rest is flexible (15-30 seconds or no break).

Key points

  • Stabilize momentarily on the single leg before exploding into the split step
  • Absorb impact softly through flexed knees upon landing in the wide stance
  • Alternate smoothly between right-leg and left-leg single-foot takeoffs

Common mistakes

Losing balance on the single-leg hop or collapsing the chest forward when landing.
