The Perfect Heavy Bag Boxing Workout for Beginners w/ Olympic BoxerCoaching notes
Round 3 introduces 3-punch combinations where you must try to throw a completely different combination every single time, pushing intensity further to 70%-95%+ with harder punches and big bombs.
Before you start
- Take your 1-minute rest between rounds.
- Prepare mentally to vary your punch sequences without repeating the exact same 3-punch combo back-to-back.
Movement sequence
- Execute strictly 3-punch combinations (e.g., 1-2-hook, 1-body hook-body hook, 1-2-2, jab-rear hook-lead body hook, etc.).
- Consciously change the combination every single time you attack.
- Elevate intensity to 70%-95%+ to land harder, faster shots ('bombs').
Key points
- Are you throwing exactly 3 punches per combination?
- Are you avoiding repetition by doing a different combination every time?
- Is your power and intensity noticeably higher (70%-95%+)?
Common mistakes
Falling into a habit of throwing the exact same 1-2-3 combination repeatedly. Throwing fewer or more than 3 punches.
