Head-Inside Single Leg Transition to Double Leg Takedown

Initiate entry off a 1-2 striking combination into a head-inside single leg; when the opponent posts and hops to defend the single leg finish, pop the head to the outside and cut across the body to complete a double leg takedown.

Key points

  • Disguise the level change and penetration step behind a 1-2 punch combination
  • Secure the single leg and attempt to drive the opponent down to their hips
  • When the opponent posts the free foot to defend, pop head to the outside and drive across into a double leg

Common mistakes

Forcing the single leg when the opponent has established a solid base instead of cutting across to the secondary angle.
