Head-Inside Single Leg Defense (Whizzer and Lock Break)

When the opponent shoots a head-inside single leg, sprawl the attacked leg back, insert a deep whizzer, push their head down and away, square the hips, and pull the opponent's elbow to break the grip lock.

Key points

  • Kick the attacked leg back immediately while locking in an overhook whizzer
  • Push the opponent's head away and down to break their posture and extend their arms
  • Square hips, anchor off the opposite leg, and pull the opponent's elbow to break their grip

Common mistakes

Leaving the attacked leg forward or failing to push the head down, allowing the attacker to maintain strong posture.
