Sprint Workout To Run Faster (APPROVED BY AN OLYMPIAN)Coaching notes
A 30-meter sprint focusing on posture, looking down at the ground to maintain a controlled transition without popping straight up prematurely.
Before you start
- Complete the 20-meter sprint phase, rest fully (3-6 minutes)
- Prepare for the final progression phase of the workout
Movement sequence
- Set up a 30-meter sprint distance
- Sprint while looking down at the ground to maintain posture
- Allow the body to gradually straighten out rather than popping straight up immediately
Key points
- Improvements in foot strike and posture observed from prior phases
- Gradual unfurling of the torso from a forward lean into upright running
- Avoiding sudden 'popping up' (abruptly going upright)
Common mistakes
Popping straight up immediately from a forward lean instead of a gradual transition Losing posture by lifting the head too early in the acceleration
Practice notes
Complete 2 full rounds total (10m, 20m, 30m each round) for a total of 6 sprints Use an electric timing system or a friend with a stopwatch to track faster 10m split times Ensure 3 to 6 minutes of rest between sprints to ensure near max effort quality
