Triple Step Advance with Step-Back Counter Drill

Advance forward with a 1-1-2 matching three synchronized steps, execute a step-back defense to evade an attack, and immediately counter with a 2-3-2.

Key points

  • Match every individual punch with an instantaneous foot strike on the 1-1-2 entry
  • Step the rear foot back into a balanced stance without leaning the upper torso backward
  • Fire the 2-3-2 counter immediately off the rear foot anchor upon completing the retreat

Common mistakes

Leaning the upper body backward during defense instead of taking a clean step back with the rear foot.
