Rhythm Interrupter: 1-2-1-Teep to Step-In Lead Knee

Establish distance with long straight punches (jab-cross-jab), push the opponent back with a lead teep, then immediately step or switch into a penetrating lead knee as you jab forward.

Key points

  • Throw long, probing straight punches (1-2-1) without tensing up to gauge range
  • Snap a crisp lead push kick (teep) to extend the opponent's center of gravity backward
  • Follow the teep with a forward jab step or switch, spearing the lead knee straight up through the middle

Common mistakes

Waiting too long after the teep lands before stepping in with the knee, letting the opponent recover their guard.
