Dutch Boy: 1-2-Body Hook to Rear Low Kick

Step in with a 1-2 to occupy the high guard, rip a shovel/hook into the liver/body to make the opponent heavy on their lead leg, then immediately unwind into a chopping rear low kick.

Key points

  • Throw the 1-2 with enough commitment to pull the opponent's guard high and create an opening downstairs
  • Rip the left hook cleanly into the body, using the torso rotation to load the rear hip
  • Unwind the hips explosively to chop the right shin into the opponent's thigh before they can check

Common mistakes

Throwing the initial punches too lightly without forcing a guard reaction, or pausing between the body hook and low kick.
